My name is Yijing Shao and I am a PhD student at NC State University. I received my bachelor’s degree in food science with a minor in foods and nutrition from Purdue University and my master’s degree from University of Idaho. After that, I joined the Quality Control team at Tillamook County Creamery Associate and worked on the quality testing of milk, cream, cheese, lactose powder, and whey protein concentrate powder. I enjoyed working with dairy products, so I decided to return to school and pursue a higher degree to further advance my knowledge of dairy foods and develop my research skills.
